Holistic Hybrid Counseling
At A Quiet Journey Counseling & Associates we are forging ahead to pioneer a hybrid of what has come to be known as holistic counseling. Holistic Hybrid Counseling reflects the belief that each of us is a whole being made of mind, body and spirit. In honor of that belief we are exploring the connections that make us a whole person and so we offer services that extend beyond traditional face-to-face talk therapy.
Along with the many traditional interventions your counselor is trained to deliver in a typical counseling session, your counselor may also include some more holistically oriented tools including: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Attitude of Gratitude.
Holistic Hybrid approaches, like the ones listed below, may not be consistent with your therapeutic goals. Consult with your therapist to determine which one may be right for you.
Harmony Therapy is a blend of talk-therapy, Reiki and/or Chakra Balancing and Craniosacral Therapy. The session is delivered by two therapist simultaneously. The work has been designed to address subtle imbalances in the body's energy fields, decreases energetic blockages and facilitate clarity in processing thoughts and feelings through talk-therapy.
Bach Blended Therapy
Bach Blended Therapy is very similar to Talk-Therapy with the added feature of using Bach Flower Remedies to enrich, restore and facilitate emotional evolution in the therapeutic process.
A Bach Flower “Remedy” consists of water that has been patterned with the energetic vibrations of one of 38 different flowers. The Remedy is added to a cup of water (or other beverage) 4 times a day. Bach Flower Therapy is named after Dr. Edward Bach, whose research led to its development in England in the 1930′s. Like other energetic healing modalities, this treatment seeks to create balance in areas of energetic disruption. Bach Flower Treatment specifically addresses the emotional body of the energy system. Its purpose is to restore emotional harmony.
Reiki-Talk Therapy begins with talk therapy and augments the session with Reiki to facilitate the therapeutic process, decrease anxiety and open channels to restore, revitalize and balance energy in the body.
Reiki is a very specific form of energy work, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body. According to many versions of its origin, Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience.
In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Energy to the client. The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing.
The method of receiving Reiki is simple. The recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. Sessions can take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the client’s needs.
